1. Where is Van Driel’s Fishing located ?

Van Driel’s Fishing is situated on the Gauteng Side of the Vaaldam, close to
Vaal Marina. See location

2. What is at Van Driel’s Fishing?

We have a 1Km Waterfront that has approximately 14 x 20 Meter Waterfront
stands for Camping, Day Visits, Club Competitions, and 12x Waterfront Cabins
with the use of the Ablution Block and a Large Oewerhuis that can accommodate approx.
8 people. We are situated next to a Game Farm and Wild can often be seen
walking in the fields across the fence. We currently do not have any swimming
Pools or Play Parks for kids, but we are looking into building soon. Vaal
Cruising Association is situated next to us, and arrangements can be made to
teach Children how to Sail. Please enquire with Jan 0744126991

3. The Ablution Block?

The Ablution Block currently has 3x Private Unisex Units that are fully
Tiled with Hot Water Shower, Toilet, Hand Wash Basin and Dressing Area.

4. Is there electricity at the Stands and Cabins?

There is NO Electricity available on our shoreline. The Ablution block and Cabins have Solar
Lights. The Oewerhuis does have Electricity.

5. Are Pets Allowed?

Yes, we allow small breed dogs, as long as they do not bother your fellow neighbours and do not sleep on the beds.

6. How Far are the Oewerhuis and Cabins from the water?

It all depends on the Vaaldams Level. When the dam is between 85 to 110%,
they are between 10 and 25 Meters from the Dam. At between 65 to 85 % they are
between 25 to 50Mtrs from the Dam.

7. Hoe Loop die Vis? Wat Werk? Fishing related questions.?

The most asked and most difficult questions to answer. This all Depends on
Weather, Season, Dam Levels, Water Temperature and Weather Fronts coming in,
Distances that you cast etc. Best Advice is to Ask on Fishing Groups etc. But I
personally believe if you fish with anything Red, you will catch some fish.
Look at where the Fish is moving early in the Mornings.

8. Do I need a 4×4 to drive in?

No, we have a 2 km gravel road from the main tarr road. Normal cars can also drive in even when it is raining. We do recommend to stay on the road when raining, as the road is “hard” underneath. If you swerve out for muddy puddles, you might end op on the softer ground on the side and get stuck.
