Whether you’re looking to experience the best fishing at the Vaal, escape the hustle and bustle of city life or reconnect with nature, RoeMar Resort Vaaldam will leave you feeling refreshed and inspired.

Van Driel’s Fishing Vaaldam is a premier freshwater angling destination situated on the Gauteng side of the Vaal Dam, approximately 8km from the Villiers crossing near Vaal Marina. Known for its expansive 1 km waterfront, the resort caters to serious anglers and families seeking a rustic, nature-focused getaway. It is highly regarded for its “private shoreline” policy, ensuring that every visitor has dedicated space to fish.

We are in the fortunate position of having deep waters on our shoreline. On average for every 10 meters, we have a 1 meter drop.

The resort is fenced and borders a game farm, offering frequent sightings of local wildlife.

Activities includes fishing, birdwatching, walking or cycling on the farm.

The peace you experience while sitting and watching the Vaaldam and the nature that surrounds it, is refreshing for the mind, body and soul.

There are 14 designated camping sites. Each stand includes a 20-meter wide private waterfront. No electricity. For more information click on Waterfront Stands. Please note that all Waterfront Stands have check in and check out times.

Each cabin includes a  20-meter wide private waterfront. With solar and gas, no electricity. For more information click on Waterfront Cabins.
